2016 Japanese Language Program for Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields (Short-term)
by Samuel Timinsky

University of Wisconsin - Madison

This program is perfect for a specialist in need of brushing back up on their Japanese or learning the essential skills to parse academic Japanese writing, professional networking, and public presentation. I have taken part in many Japanese language programs and was certainly the best in terms of achieving targeted goals regarding my language abilities. These is plenty of flexibility built into the program that will let you tailor your experience to allow for more autonomous study or more supervision.

The faculty and staff are wonderful and dedicated. The library staff was extremely helpful. They provided me with a litany of resources and documents whenever I asked and were genuinely excited to help me explore and develop my project. My teachers took a genuine interest in my development and me as a person. None of them treated us like a box to check and I felt very comfortable with them right from the start.
