お笑い芸人から中国で日本語教師となり、20年教鞭をとった後、世界33カ国で1500回の講演会、模擬授業、日本語教師研修を行ってきた笈川先生。日本語学習者の心に火をつけ、日本語力を伸ばすこと、特に発音・スピーチの指導を特技とされています。今回は来米の機会を得た笈川先生に、さまざまなご経験をご紹介いただくとともに、これからの日本語教師はどうあるべきか、どのような力が求められるかなどを語っていただきます。日本語教師の方々のみならず、日本語教師を目指している方、日本語教育に関心のある方もぜひご参加ください。

After 20 years of teaching Japanese in China, Koji Oikawa-sensei, who was a comedian prior to teaching, has given 1,500 lectures, mock classes, and has led Japanese teacher training in 33 countries around the world.  His specialty is igniting the hearts and minds of learners and helping them improve their Japanese skills, especially pronunciation and speech instruction.  Oikawa-sensei will join us during his visit to the U.S. to talk about his various experiences and share his views regarding how Japanese teachers of today and tomorrow need to adapt and what new skills will be required of them.  This special occasion to hear the experiences and insights of a venerated global language educator is open not only to Japanese teachers, but to all who aspire to become Japanese teachers or who are simply interested in Japanese education.

about LECTURER

笈川幸司
中国北京大学、清華大学で10年間授業を行い、200名以上の日本語スピーチ大会優勝者を輩出する。その後、中国110都市398校、世界33カ国で1500回の講演会、模擬授業、日本語教師研修を行う。2021年6月に帰国後、オンラインで海外の外国人学習者向けに就職セミナー前の面接対策と合格後の内定者研修を行いながら、日本語教師養成講座で、スピーチ、発音指導のできる教師を育成している。文化庁長官表彰、外務大臣表彰受賞。ニューズウィーク日本版『世界で尊敬されている日本人100名』にも選出。若い頃には漫才師として活動した経歴も持つ。https://oikawakohji.com/

KOJI OIKAWA

Having taught classes at Peking University and Tsinghua University in China for 10 years, Oikawa-sensei has held 1,500 lectures, mock classes, and has led Japanese language teacher training in 398 schools in 110 cities in China and 33‘ countries around the world. Since returning to Japan in June 2021, Oikawa-sensei held pre-job interview seminars for Japanese-language learners overseas as well as post-interview training for prospective hires. Additionally, Oikawa-sensei teaches Japanese speech and pronunciation as a teacher training course. Oikawa-sensei has received the Cultural Affairs Agency Commissioner 's Award,  the Foreign Minister's Commendation, and has been selected as one of the 100 most respected Japanese people in the world by Newsweek Japan.
