Exploring Kanji & Calligraphy

Learning Kanji seems challenging but it is actually interesting and fun!
In this workshop, you will learn Kanji learning tips as we introduce types of Kanji formation, the ways to read them, and the concept of radicals.
You will also learn how to write Kanji with Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) using correct posture, the correct way to bring an ink blush, and correct stroke orders.
At the end of the workshop, you will write your favorite Kanji with Japanese calligraphy on Japanese washi paper!
This workshop is suitable for:
- Beginners who know Hiragana and Katakana
- Beginners who just started learning some Kanji
- People who are struggling with learning Kanji
- People who are interested in Kanji and Japanese calligraphy
*We will provide you calligraphy tools and paper during the workshop. Please notice calligraphy ink does not come off easily. Casual clothes are recommended.

2. Cancellations by JFLA
The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA), may cancel the workshop if necessary. Applicants will be notified in advance and receive full refunds. The workshop contents are subject to change.
3. Course Availability
The workshop is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the workshop will close once it is filled to capacity.
5. Waiting List
Once the workshop becomes full, applicants can be placed on a waiting list. If space becomes available, applicants will be enrolled in the workshop.
