Description: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will sponsor a group of five Japanese American high school students to travel to Japan June 28 – July 9, 2013 for the opportunity to learn about Japan and to promote mutual understanding and exchanges between younger generations of Japanese and Japanese Americans. The program includes a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and a Japanese high school, tours of Tokyo and the Kansai area, and a homestay experience with a Japanese family.Applicants living in the states of Washington, Montana, and Northern Idaho are asked to send a completed application by mail to the address below.

Description: TFLA would like to encourage members who have never presented a session or workshop at any conference to share their talent and expertise by submitting a proposal and to present a session or workshop at an upcoming conference. TFLA understands that economic circumstances are obstacles that prevent a talented presenter from attending and presenting at conferences; therefore, TFLA has created this scholarship to assist the scholarship applicant with the costs of travel and lodging involved. In addition, TFLA will waive the registration fees for the conference for the scholarship applicant. Name: Faculty Research Awards program
Description: Google Research Awards are one-year awards structured as unrestricted gifts to universities to support the work of world-class full-time faculty members at top universities around the world. Faculty members can apply for Research Awards by submitting a proposal to one of our two 2013 funding rounds. Our 2013 deadlines are April 15 and October 15. Recipients are selected through a comprehensive internal review process and notified of their awards within 4 months of the initial submission. Faculty members can apply for up to 150,000 USD in eligible expenses, but actual award amounts are frequently less than the full amount requested. Most awards are funded at the amount needed to support basic expenses for one graduate student for one year.
